Behind the brand there is a firm friendship of David and Matej, shared passion to design and develop their own fashion accessories and desire to find the best possible result.
The guys are a great team. Matej makes full use of his many years' knowledge and thinking as a graphic designer. David is a master of the craft and this way he brings all their designs to life.
For this reason they decided to found the original Mui Bek brand in 2017 which made it clear what direction in the fashion industry they want to take in future. So thus the very first urban semi leather backpack was made and has been upgraded step by step to its present form becoming a symbol of the brand.
They want to demonstrate that even in such a small country like the Czech Republic there can be a strong fashion brand created of which products can compete with world-class brands both in design and technically.
They make sustainable fashion and believe their articles under the new brand Ötzi 1991 can bring you not only esthetic satisfaction.
The name Ötzi 1991 refers to an outstanding discovery of an extraordinary preserved mummy found in the Ötztal Alps (hence that nickname Ötzi) in the same year. Along with the body of a man dating back to the Copper Age there were remnants of leather clothing and equipment found. That level of highly-developed and thorough making is a priceless example of craftsman perfection.
In cooperation with a Czech sewing room they continue in an immortal handmade leather production in a new and modern concept.
The fashion world has always been fascinating for them, mainly production processes standing behind the final outcome. Fashion represents freedom thanks to which you can express the whole range of emotions and opinions without a single word.
And the brand Ötzi 1991 says F*uck Fast Fashion.
